RetireEASE Senior Services is sadden by the loss of our dear client and friend, Ada S Williams. Ada passed away on February 14, 2013, after a brief illness.

Ada S Williams - Retire Ease

Ada was born to J Walter and Alice Simons in Ridgeway, SC on April 20, 1919. The family’s farm instilled in Ada the values of family, independence, and an abiding faith in God. She is often remembered for saying “we made everything we had,” when referring to her childhood on the farm. She was fiercely proud and always proactive in educating herself.

At the age of 18, she married Manning R. Williams, Jr, of Camden, SC on the 24th of November 1937. They were married 48 years, until his death, and had 4 children. For 50 years, Ada worked in domestic service in which the families she worked for became friends and sustained lifelong bonds, long after the work had ended.

Ada enjoyed interests, such as cooking, gardening, reading, and listening to various types of music. The defining roles in her life were the title of mother and friend. Here is where she offered praise, hope, support, humor, and love to those in her life; and guided her children with a warm smile, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Ada S Williams survived by her children, Elaine Syng, Ralph (Nancye) Williams, Constance (Phillip) Washington, and Geoffrey (Jerrye) Williams, her sister Avoid Crosby, seven grandchildren, Roger, Tanya, Angela, Nicole, Dawn, Todd, Ramona, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, and loving relatives, and many devoted friends.

Ada would wish everyone well and remind you all to take better care of yourselves, and to be kind to one another. For more visit RetireEase.
